Volucap allows Dieter Hallervorden to meet his younger self in the new Sky original show

For September 2023, Sky has announced the premiere of a new show format called “Me & Myself”, where host Michael Mittermeier plans a unique encounter for Dieter Hallervorden with his younger self to mark his 88th birthday.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be utilized in the show, scheduled for September 5th at 8:15 pm on Sky One, ensuring that Hallervorden meets his 1987 self.
This is made possible by using Volucap’s LIVE Deepfake Technology, which facilitates real-time video generation and manipulation through deepfakes. Comprehensive material from the late ’70s to the early ’90s was gathered for this, including old performances, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and other sources. From these, shots were selected where Dieter Hallervorden’s face was clearly visible from various angles and lighting positions. Using the final training data, a digital representation of Dieter Hallervorden from 1987 was crafted, which the real Hallervorden encounters in “Me & Myself”.
