Volucap Hosts Filmuni Summer School on XR & Historical Education

From September 29 to October 2, Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF will host the Filmuni Summer School. As part of the program “Using VR and AR in Holocaust and Nazi-Era Historical Education” (“VR und AR in der NS-Geschichtsvermittlung”), Volucap will welcome participants to its studio for an in-depth look at volumetric video production — guided by the expertise of Elizabete Vindule-Mince and Sascha Schwarz.

Attendees will explore the technical foundations of volumetric capture and its application in projects such as “In Real Life?” (“In Echt?”) and “The Lost Time” (“Die wenige Zeit”) with Margot Friedländer. The session also dives into how XR technologies — including augmented, mixed, and virtual reality — are being used to preserve Holocaust testimonies in deeply immersive formats.
