The Volucap Max Studio
Our Volucap Max Studio is located on 170 square meters in Studio Babelsberg’s FX Center. The setup offers an active action area of 3 meters. Volucap Max features a unique lighting system, developed in cooperation with ARRI, which allows for a particularly natural illumination of skin tones. The world-leading resolution of our Volucap Max Stage allows for maximum quality in a controlled environment without waiting times.
Inside the Max Stage, people and objects can be scanned three-dimensionally and lifelike with motion as volucaps. Intelligent software algorithms enable automatic calculation of 3D surfaces and textures. Volucaps can be inserted into any AR, MR, VR, 360° or 2D video/web application on a variety of devices such as phones, holographic headsets and Windows Mixed Reality immersive headsets.

With 700 megapixel each shot, our Volucap Max Studio puts itself apart from the competition. Thanks to Volucap´s Max groundbreaking realistic quality, Volucap opens up new possibilities for volumetric videos.
Unique lighting system
Volucap Max is equipped with a patented lighting system. In addition to dynamic 360-degree stage lighting, this makes it possible to dispense with green screens and thus offers ideal conditions for realistic virtual relighting.

ADAPTIVE MESH SIMPLIFICATION
Adaptive mesh simplification allows to preserve more triangles and allocate a larger texture budget for important areas such as faces or hands.
TEMPORAL MESH STABILIZATION
Temporally stable meshes allow for better compression and easier post-processing of data. We offer fully automated computing of temporally stable meshes.
INDIVIDUAL FEATURE TRACKING
Tracking of the 3D data allows the placement of new accessories or changes to clothing without having to re-record the volucap. This allows a more flexible use for future applications.
DYNAMIC EYE CONTACT
Eye contact increases immersion as the Volucap always follows the observer. It doesn’t matter where the viewer stands, because he always feels directly addressed.
