Sven Bliedung von der Heide, CEO of Volucap also worked on the visual effects for Cloud Atlas at the time and knows the high expectations of Lana Wachowski. Beforehand, many camera manufacturers were tested and evaluated for use at Volucap. RED was able to provide the necessary data quality required for the challenging volumetric shots. Volucap was involved in the early development of particularly challenging action sequences and visual effects, and spent a total of two years working with the Matrix team on the new sequel to the franchise.
