Shot primarily in the virtual production volume Darkbay located in Babelsberg next to the renowned Volucap Studio, “1899″ represents the cutting edge of modern filmmaking. Thanks to the use of Volucap’s world-leading camera technology, the show’s volucaps are among the highest quality and most realistic available today.

For optimal realism and flexibility in portraying background characters on the LED-Walls, apart of the cast of the series “1899” was also captured at Volucap Studio. Leveraging advanced volumetric capture technology, the scenes were constructed with unparalleled creative freedom, seamlessly blending virtual and real-world elements.
