DIRECTOR BONG JOON-HO’S NEW MOVIE WITH ROBERT PATTINSON AND STEVEN YEUN

Warner Bros. recently released a trailer for the upcoming movie Mickey 17, scheduled for release on January 31, 2025. The film is directed, produced, and written by Bong Joon Ho and is adapted from Edward Ashton’s novel “Mickey 7”.

For this production, we at Volucap supported the creation of digital doubles of Robert Pattinson and conducted on-set volumetric capture using our mobile Deepfake Capture Rig (DCAP) — our advanced system designed to meet the highest standards of Hollywood filmmaking. By capturing on-location with actors in their real roles, we ensured unmatched authenticity, seamlessly integrating scene-specific lighting, makeup effects, and nuanced performances into the deepfake process.

Alongside Pattinson is Oscar nominee Steven Yeun (“Minari”, “The Walking Dead”), Naomi Ackie (“I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker”), with Oscar nominee Toni Collette (“Hereditary”, “The Sixth Sense”), Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo (the “Avengers” films, “Spotlight”) and Holliday Grainger (“Great Expectations”).

Bong Joon Ho, who is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed movies “Parasite” and “Snowpiercer”, is widely regarded as one of the most talented and innovative filmmakers working today. His unique vision and storytelling abilities make him a perfect fit for “Mickey 17”, which is sure to be a thought-provoking and exciting movie.
