Volucap’s New Hollywood Project – Mickey 17 Trailer Released

Volucap’s advanced deepfake tech elevates Bong Joon Ho’s latest sci-fi thriller.

Berlin, August 6, 2024 – Warner Bros. has officially released the trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi film “Mickey 17”, directed by visionary filmmaker Bong Joon Ho and set to debut in January 2025, starring Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, and Naomi Ackie.

For this production, we at Volucap supported the creation of digital doubles of Robert Pattinson and conducted on-set volumetric capture using our mobile Deepfake Capture Rig (DCAP) — our advanced system designed to meet the highest standards of Hollywood filmmaking. By capturing on-location with actors in their real roles, we ensured unmatched authenticity, seamlessly integrating scene-specific lighting, makeup effects, and nuanced performances into the deepfake process.

“Mickey 17” is an adaptation of Edward Ashton’s novel “Mickey 7”, directed, produced, and scripted by Bong Joon Ho, known for his work on “Parasite” and “Snowpiercer”. With Volucap’s technology, the film presents hyper-realistic scenes that elevate the cinematic experience, making it one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
