Volucap’s New Hollywood Project – Mickey 17 Trailer Released

Volucap’s advanced deepfake tech elevates Bong Joon Ho’s latest sci-fi thriller.

Berlin, August 6, 2024 – Warner Bros. has officially released the trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi film “Mickey 17”, directed by visionary filmmaker Bong Joon Ho and set to debut in January 2025, starring Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, and Naomi Ackie.

In this groundbreaking production, Volucap was tasked with producing cinema-quality deepfakes, including a key sequence in which Robert Pattinson’s character, Mickey Barnes, meets a version of himself. Volucap’s cutting-edge volumetric capture technology enabled seamless integration of digital elements with the physical performances, pushing the boundaries of visual effects in modern cinema.

“Mickey 17” is an adaptation of Edward Ashton’s novel “Mickey 7”, directed, produced, and scripted by Bong Joon Ho, known for his work on “Parasite” and “Snowpiercer”. With Volucap’s technology, the film presents hyper-realistic scenes that elevate the cinematic experience, making it one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
